Change lives for the better by supporting cardiac patient care in Manitoba. With their generous gifts over the past 50 years, St. Boniface Hospital Foundation donors have transformed cardiac care for Manitobans, helping make St. Boniface Hospital a Cardiac Centre of Excellence. Donors have helped the Hospital acquire critical equipment for procedures like the transesophageal echocardiogram to assess the structure and function of the heart. They’ve funded research for better prevention, care, and treatment of heart problems.
And their support helped establish the facilities to treat patients like Sean Barnes. A dad, husband, coach, and big-time hockey fan, he’s also a cancer survivor.
A follow-up to his cancer treatment identified concerns with his heart, leading to further investigation at St. Boniface Hospital and the discovery his artery was 70 per cent blocked.
