Sals Star of the Week: Scott Coley (introduced by Dalibor Gavranovic)
Scott is the newest member of the Clinical Lead group within Respiratory Therapy Department, responsible for ICCS, CSIU and technical support. Since this position has been updated to include a clinical component, Scott has embraced the new role and provided excellent support to the Respiratory Department and other health care team members.
In the last couple of months we have started to have more issues with the blood gas machines, where Scott has taken upon himself to connect with the company and quickly learn and understand what measures need to be taken to troubleshoot.
On October 3rd Scott has been contacted by Respiratory Therapists to troubleshoot the blood gas machine and he tried to offer assistance and remedy the issue over the phone. Upon realizing that RT’s are being overwhelmed with patient acuity and that machine might need more support, he came into the hospital to troubleshoot the issue and at the end was able to fix it.
As a new member in the leadership role, Scott is absorbing the new information, asking appropriate questions and providing solutions. Scott is ready to take challenges in a positive manner, and assist his coworkers.
