Sals Stars of the Week: Nancy Luxa-Le Blanc (introduced by Ross Feldman)
The PA/CA Program in Cardiac Sciences is the backbone of both cardiology and cardiac surgery inpatient and OR care. The importance of the PA/CA program in patient care, especially on the Cardiology Inpatient units, has grown very significantly over the past 4 years as we more than doubled our complement of PA/CAs. Nancy has been integral in assisting in managing that growth.
Beyond her full-time role as an OR PA, among other contributions, Nancy has taken the lead in the development of the onboarding program for our new PAs and has been the go-to person in its implementation
Most recently she has taken a very important role in refining the new scheduling system for the PA/Ca’s. That system will be especially important as we begin the onboarding of our newest PAs in the course of the current recruitment effort. For both all of her past efforts in helping to manage the growth of the CA/PA Program in Cardiac Sciences and her most recent efforts in implementing the new scheduling system, Nancy is a very deserving Sal’s Star. Congratulations Nancy!

Congratulations to PhD student, Weiang Yan, supervised by Sanjiv Dhingra and Rakesh Arora who was recently named a Paul Dudley White International Scholar by the BCVS division of the American Heart Association for achieving the highest-ranking abstract submitted from Canada for its upcoming international basic cardiovascular sciences conference.
