Your heart is affected by many factors such as what you eat, how much fluid you drink, which activities and exercises you do, and what medications you take. Learning to maintain a heart healthy diet, keeping active, and taking the right medications, is a good starting point in managing your heart failure. We invite you to watch our online heart failure education class created by the cardiac sciences heart failure program. You will hear from a nurse, dietitian, physiotherapist, and pharmacist about ways to help you and your family make changes that can:

Heart Failure Awareness Week
Heart failure (HF) is gaining attention across Canada and throughout the world as more people are living with HF. The Canadian Heart Failure Society (CHFS) has taken steps to engage health care providers in raising awareness about new and current standards of practice, summarized in the Canadian Cardiovascular Society HF Guidelines, to improve care for patients living with HF.
As part of this effort, CHFS has partnered with six Canadian organizations to create an annual national campaign to promote HF awareness among health care professionals, patients and their families.
The Canadian Heart Failure Society (CHFS) an affiliate of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, recognizes Annual Heart Failure Awareness Week in May. Additional patient resources are available here.
