About

Dr. Shuangbo Liu (MD, FRCPC) is an assistant professor in the Departments of Medicine and Community Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. She is an interventional cardiologist and clinician scientist. Her clinical and research interests are focused on acute coronary syndrome and percutaneous coronary intervention outcomes as well as women’s heart health.

 

Dr. Liu is the Research Director of the Manitoba Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) Network and a member of the Executive Committee. Dr. Liu is also active in national committees such as the Canadian Cardiovascular Research Collaboratory and the Canadian Women’s Heart Health Alliance.

  • Acute coronary syndrome, percutaneous coronary intervention outcomes
  • Women’s heart health including spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) and myocardial infarction with nonobstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA)

Education / Training

Dr. Liu obtained her MD from the University of Manitoba. She completed her internal medicine and adult cardiology training in Winnipeg. In 2017, she moved to Toronto to pursue an interventional cardiology fellowship at St. Michael’s Hospital. Following completion of her clinical training in 2019, she joined St. Michael’s Hospital as a clinical associate.
