About

I grew up in Burlington Ontario. Based currently at St. Boniface General Hospital, I am a Professor of Medicine and former Chief of Cardiology at the University of Manitoba.

Clinical Interests

My clinical and research interests are in echocardiography, utility of diagnostic testing, adult congenital heart disease and cardiac palliative care. I am working to improve patient education and communication in chronic disease management and end of life care.

Education / Training

Obtained my medical degree at the University of Toronto before pursuing Internal Medicine and Cardiology residency training at the University of Ottawa and Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Following a two year fellowship at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, I joined the Section of Cardiology at the University of Manitoba in 1996.

Research Interests

Echocardiography, utility of diagnostic testing adult congenital heart disease and cardiac palliative care.
