National Nurses Week May 9-15
This week we recognize our nurses, coinciding with the birthday of Florence Nightingale on May 12. It has been a difficult journey for all of us over the past year, but much of the heavy lifting has been done by the nurses of Cardiac Sciences, who have integral roles in the provision of all of our services. Please join me in thanking, celebrating honouring our nurses for what they do 24/7 to support patients with Cardiac Disease in Manitoba.
Sal’s Star of the Week: Belinda Landry

I’d like to recognize Belinda Landry as Sal’s Star of the Week. As the unit educator Belinda is an integral member of the ICCS team. She works hard to keep us all up to date and committed to providing excellent care. Belinda is always readily available to do on the spot teaching, supporting staff and taking on a patient load when needed. A recent example of her dedication to the team and the unit, just this week…we had pulmonary catheters with alteplase infusions, sub pleural epidural catheters, new staff caring for patients with cardiac support devices, all of which were new experiences to a variety of staff members. Belinda was in each of these rooms providing on the spot education and support. We couldn’t have done it all without her support and expertise! Thank you and congrats to Belinda!!
