Biomedical and Clinical Engineering Week

Biomedical and Clinical Engineers are the health care professionals that  test, calibrate and maintain each device in Cardiac Sciences and across the health care system ensuring everything is in appropriate working order to support the care and comfort of patients.  They have especially stepped up during the past year. Last week we recognized the Biomedical Clinical Engineers (including our Chris Bzovey).  Your work Chris and that of your colleagues is appreciated 52 weeks of the year!

This Week’s Quarterly Meeting for CSMB Physicians

This week’s Quarterly CSMB Physicians Meeting will be structured as a COVID Town Hall.  We, the Medical Leads of Cardiac Sciences will be glad to try to answer your questions and share as much as we know about this rapidly changing situation that is further impairing our ability to provide timely service to cardiac patients in Manitoba.  You are encouraged to come with your questions and concerns.

Sals Stars of the Week: Ann Hall (introduced by Sara Unrau)

I would like to recognize Ann Hall. Ann has worked at St. Boniface Hospital since 1981, she has been a part of the St. Boniface work force for 40 years. That alone is a distinction that not many will achieve. Ann is a bedside nurse in ICCS and is a strong leader in promoting and providing top notch care to our cardiac surgery population. She has guided and mentored many of the nurses currently working at the bedside. Over the years she has also assisted with the training of new ICU nurses as a clinical instructor, a preceptor and a colleague. Her attention to the smallest detail and maintaining high standards of care has helped shape the expectation and standards of care for our cardiac surgery patients. This recognition is twofold – thank you for the years of excellent care and a congratulations on your upcoming retirement!
