Sal’s Stars of the Week: Aggie Filarski-Pecold

This week’s Sal’s star is our unit assistant Aggie Filarski-Pecold from the heart function clinic. Aggie has been in cardiology for approximately 17 years and has worked in a variety of clinics. For the past several years, she has worked in heart function clinic. Aggie has a very busy position supporting clinics that occur every day of the week all day. Aggie is very organized, focused, committed and willing to lend a hand. Recently, over the past several months, we have had a few new unit assistants come into the cardiology clinics, Aggie has always been willing and able to help orientate new folks, while still completing her work. A recent example of her willingness to take on extra was around addressing patient phone messages left on Y3 when we didn’t have enough staff to address these. There were a few conversations about who should be taking on this responsibility with all staff feeling overworked, not long after these conversations did Aggie just quietly go upstairs and deal with all the outstanding calls without being asked to. Aggie is an outspoken individual with strong opinions, and a commitment to the program. We are lucky to have Aggie and are appreciative of her efforts.
Outside of work Aggie is a mother of two, having a son Brandyn, age 25 and a daughter Kaya, age 16. Aggie enjoys time with her family and two dogs Misiu and Jasper.
